The Tucson by Hyundai continues be one of the best-selling and critically-acclaimed crossovers on the market. The 2020 Hyundai Tucson, which is now available at your local Hyundai dealership serving Anderson Spartanburg Greenville South Carolina, delivers an attractive exterior, a fun and responsive driving experience and a broad range of standard and optional equipment. The 2020 model is available at Hyundai of Anderson in six trims: SE, Value, SEL, Sport, Limited and Ultimate. Join us as we explore these trim levels and features and consider the differences and which options are best for you.
The Tucson is a compact two-row crossover SUV with seating for five passengers. The core cargo area measures 31.0 cubic feet, and you can expand that to 61.9 with the second row folded. Both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are an option at all trim levels. The base model—as well as the Value model—feature a 2.0L four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0L engine makes 161 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque. Standard exterior equipment includes 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels and automatic headlamps. The standard interior features cloth upholstery, a 60/40-split folding rear seat, a 7-inch touchscreen and a six-speaker sound system. The base driver assist tech includes forward collision detection, automatic emergency braking and lane keeping assist.
The Value is intended to appeal to the average consumer and may be the most popular of the 2020 Hyundai Tucson trim levels. It adds keyless entry and ignition, which most consumers expect nowadays. The driver assistance group is expanded with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alerts. The infotainment system includes Blue Link services. The standard equipment also includes a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, heated side mirrors and roof side rails. While this may seem like a big departure from the base model, it all comes at very little additional expense.
Perhaps the biggest difference with the 2020 Hyundai Tucson SEL is the step up to a beefier powertrain. These upper models feature a 2.4L i4 also paired to a six-speed automatic, and this engine makes 181 hp and 175 lb.-ft., which is quite the difference. If you want to tow and opt for the available trailering package, you can handle up to 2,000 pounds as opposed to 1,500 with the base setup. The base wheels and tires are also increased to 18 inches. The SEL is a bit more stylish as well thanks to premium front and rear fascias and premium side sills. These accents persist at the higher trim levels as well. The SEL also adds a USB port for the rear seat and a dual-zone climate control system.
The Sport features some additional distinct exterior enhancements that make it look, well, sportier! The wheels and tires are 19 inches, the headlamps and taillamps are upgraded to LED and front LED fog lamps and LED daytime running lamps are included as well. This is also the first trim in the lineup to feature a hands-free liftgate, which makes running errands around town a lot more convenient. You can even set the height to which the liftgate will open. The interior is upgraded with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. You also get wireless charging for your smartphone and other devices.
Note: As mentioned in the opener, you also have the choice of the Limited and Ultimate. The Limited builds on the Sport with leather upholstery and the Ultimate features more advanced driver assist tech.
